APPLES, ORANGES, LEMONS AND LIMES

Directed by PATRICK MITCHELL

Patrick Mitchell, director of “Apples, Oranges, Lemons and Limes”,
which was featured in this year’s Tri-Borough Film Festival, has
been a filmmaker in the industry for over a decade as well as a music
producer and produced an original song for the film. During his time
in the industry, he has produced numerous short films and was a film
submission evaluator for the Fort Myers Film Festival.
When asked about the inspiration behind “Apples, Oranges, Lemons, and
Limes” Pat mentioned, “I used to throw parties earlier in my 20's
toward the end of high school into the college years. Never once, had
wild nights of irresponsibility and craziness commonly depicted. I
wanted to make a realistic portrayal of a missed connection meeting at
a random party.”. This slice of life film, takes a look at the
realistic and wholesome connections made between young people. Pat
talked about the filming process and what it was like to start on a
project of this size, to which he said “ With a new project, I like to
think about concepts first. I conceptualize ideas, scenarios,
concepts, or rationalities that are the least common to happen. The
“what if” game really. I try to manage a realistic point of view even
in bizarre high end concept stories.”. With a score that ties the
whole film together and brings back that nostalgic feel of being
young, dumb, and in love…. “Apples, Oranges, Lemons, and Limes”, is a
great addition to this year’s Tri-Borough Film Festival line up.
Pat went on to talk about his upcoming projects, which include several
features, one being a psychological thriller, and hopes to gain
investors and find avenues to getting these bigger projects off the
ground.
