By the title and abstract, one would expect a fair comparison between the last 25 years of Belarus and Estonia. But obviously it isn’t about it.
90% of the content is about Estonia. A half of this is about how free-minded, and innovative the Estonians are. The other half are simple praise to the current government.
The Belarusians are briefly presented as “Elbonians”, with no context of how Lukashenko raised to power, or any word about Russian’s influence. Moreover, in contrast to Estonia, the author does not cite a visit to the country, nor quotes a Belarusian “friend”.
In summary: everybody knows before starting the reading which model turned to be superior. But instead of a fair comparison, the text is pure liberal propaganda, which carefully picked Estonia and Belarus.
I wonder why Medium has featured such article.
