Time and Tide waits for no men

What is time? For cities, it is money. You can see people running day and night to reach their destination, fulfilling their needs. During rush hours, a person not used to a city life, would hardly be able to live in the hustle and bustle of vibrant cities. In Mumbai, I travel to Siddhivinayak temple (a famous temple in Mumbai dedicated to Lord Ganesh) from my home, at around a distance of around 25 km. Even post hours after midnight, vehicles continue to sway the roads and people working in full swing like it is day time.

Whereas, when you go to a village, it is a commodity of relaxation for the people. This might be because they have less requirements and desires, probably due to less exposure to technology, but this truth is slowly going to change with rapid digitization. Sometimes, such imbalance is creating a few sections of millionaires and many still starve for basic necessities. Here, there comes a lot of confusion for whom to blame for this imbalance, rapid urbanization or neglecting the process of counter urbanization. No one has this answer.

Now, the questions arises, is the time we spent on any activity, worth? In villages, people are comparatively healthy, wake up early in the morning, do their work, cherish in the noon, relax in the evening and the entire cycle repeats each day. In cities, we do not know what is dawn, dusk or noon, it is just day and night. Day is used for work, night is for rest. The entire active life is stuck between office and home. Even though you love your work, it is difficult to maintain life.

The sedentary life makes our belly fat and we crave for freedom from this bondage. Many times, question comes, who is happy? Inspite of having everything, are we happy with the unhealthy delicacies or the person from the village who peacefully eats the tasty home made food.

In rural areas, whatever they get, there is excitement, but in cities, we have the tendency to criticize things, apply logic and blame things. Cities do not permit time for leisure, for family and your children. Is this worth living? Time is not only for leisure , but every moment needs to be lived either by doing something you love, or by spending it for your loved ones.

Time is valuable for everyone and it should be used judiciously, no matter how less you get it, or if you have enough spare time. Don’t wait for anyone to be with you. Make yourself your company and enjoy the spirit of your time. Enjoy your life and make it worth living , may it be the corporate world, or the green fields or under the clutches of your master.

Since time waits for no men, even you should not wait for time and juxtapose it with your passion and dedication. Time is the key to your happiness, because, if used beautifully, it will be truly beautiful.
