Yes, I'm a freelancer!

I’ve been working as a UI/UX Designer for the last 6 years of my life. Many things happened in that time, and I had all kinds of experiences that bring me here today. Startups, Digital Agencies, founding my own company (and close it after 4 years) and last but not least, becoming a Freelance UI/UX Designer for the last 2 years.

Some reasons made my transition to a Freelance world.
One of them was the birth of my first son in 2014; immediately I want to spend more time with my family.

My Wife, Theo, me and Otto (2015)

Another reason was that I wanted to work remotely, with more flexible hours of work and being a freelancer was the right choice for me.
It’s been two years since I made that decision, and I do not regret it. Today I have more time to be with my children and my wife, I can dedicate myself to other projects that I have, and I feel that I have become a better father and designer as well, because of the environment around me, who directly influences my perception of problems and how to solve them.

After some time

I began to realize that I needed new challenges and to grow more professionally, so I met some freelance websites, and one of them was TopTal, who immediately stood out from all other platforms.

Being a freelancer is not easy, especially since there are many other professionals on the market, and often you are just another one in the middle of a crowd. Another tricky part of being a freelancer is that your client does not always do what he/she should do or pay properly. In other words, can be a nightmare if you aren’t an organized and a self-driven professional.

Why TopTal?

TopTal seems to solve these and other problems for us.
Being among the top 3% is the best way to get noticed and get new jobs. The amounts paid are very good and your payment is guaranteed by TopTal.
In addition to being able to work with large companies and startups from all over the world.
The work-life balance it’s essential nowadays, and it seems to be possible working with them.
Another amazing thing is that I can find a long-term job even being a freelancer. It’s a really great opportunity, and I want to be part of the 3% Toptal UI Designers Network, that’s for sure!

I just began the interviewing process, and I hope that everything goes well.
