Home is not a destination

If our childhood was spent in a nest, a prototype of what a home should be according to people other than ourselves,

Then our home is what we ourselves design and build after leaving the nest.

Home is not a destination or a place.

Home is a feeling. A feeling of belonging. A feeling of intimacy. A feeling of familiarity. A feeling of being our best and truest (and quirkiest) self.

Home is not found in others.

Home is where the heart is, built on our inner values and personal beliefs. Home is an inner sanctuary.

Home is the intangible energy people experience when they come into our presence.

Home defiantly and definitively stands for who we are.

How many of us, then, are living life homeless?
