Coach Holota is originally from Livingston, NJ and was a collegiate attackman and president of the NC State University Lacrosse Team . Coach Holota was introduced to lacrosse in middle school and has been hooked ever since. In just a few years, he went from knowing little about the game to setting his high school’s record for most goals scored in a lacrosse season his senior year. Coach Holota’s high school lacrosse accolades also include all-conference and all-state recognition. At NC State, Coach Holota was not only a four year starter but also a team leader, serving as the team captain his junior and senior year. He named to the SELC All-Conference team his senior year, leading the Wolfpack in scoring with 49 points on the year.

Coach Holota has been coaching Wake County public school lacrosse teams for over a decade. He is currently the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Middle Creek High School and coaches all ages and levels within the 919 Lacrosse program from K-8th grade. Prior to coaching at Middle Creek High School, he was the Head Assistant Coach at Holly Springs High School from 2008–2015. He also coached at Southeast Raleigh High School as the Head JV coach and then later as the Head Varsity coach between 2003–2007.

Coach Holota has a passion for teaching in the classroom and on the field. He is not only a coach but also a public school teacher. He holds a B.A. in political science and a Masters of Teaching from NC State University.

DOUG GREENBERG — 919 LACROSSE DIRECTOR

Coach Greenberg is originally from Pittsburgh , PA and played for western Pennsylvania coaching legend Peter Tulk.

In 2006, at the opening of the new community school, he became the boy’s Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach, Head Varsity Soccer Coach, and science teacher at Holly Springs H.S. He has a B.S. in Biology from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN), a Masters in Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh, and is a National Board Certified Teacher. He is married to Kim (also a teacher) and they are proud parents of 2 boys, Nathan and Landon who both play lacrosse, hockey, and basketball throughout the year. Coach Greenberg coaches lacrosse and hockey all year and devotes as much time as he can to mentoring student-athletes on and off the field.

Prior to his current coaching and teaching position, he was the boy’s Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach, Head Varsity Soccer Coach, and a science teacher at Southeast Raleigh H.S. from 1998–2006, which was the very first WCPSS boys lacrosse program ever formed. In 1999, he coordinated students to form the very first WCPSS girls lacrosse program as well. Many alumni and former assistant coaches from these first Southeast Raleigh teams have circled back to become integral pieces to many of the coaching staffs of NC teams and programs, and Coach Greenberg hopes more alumni of area teams continue to give back to the growth of NC lacrosse.

Coach Greenberg was selected as the 2005 North Carolina H.S. Lacrosse Coach of the Year, the 2008 Greater Neuse Conference Coach of the Year, and the 2016 South Wake Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
