At Peakhunter (almost) everything is about Peaks. But how do you define a Peak?

The above image depicts our Peak Definition.

A Peak is the highest Point of a mountain (a.k.a. summit). The Prominence (P) should be at least 30 meters (98 ft). The Prominence of a Peak is the difference in height between the Peak and the highest col (saddle point) (S2) that leads to a higher Peak.

Following this criterion new Peaks are verified.
