Finding Our Why

‘People do not buy what you do or your product, they buy why you do it.’ Simon Sinek gave a great TED talk on this topic and it is our topic for this week’s blog.

Recently we interviewed a young man who we hope to be able to introduce to you soon, as our Pedals Espresso owner for the Sunshine Coast area.

His passion and the reason we know he is going to a big success is because of his desire to connect with people and the fact that he understands that Pedals is about more than just a cup of coffee. The reason each of our current franchisees and future ones will be a success is because of the service and feeling they give to their customers.

A great cup of coffee is one of our passions but we have chosen the motto of ‘Australia’s Happiest Baristas’ for a reason. Our mission in beginning Pedals is to spread joy. When I had a job I felt and witnessed so many people living like robots doing work they did not love nor have passion for and their lives had a serious lack of joy.

As the owners and directors of Pedals Espresso we are committed and passionate about giving people passion and joy in their lives. For our franchisees it is about giving them the freedom, adventure and ability for them to build their own wealth and live life on their terms. In turn by ensuring our franchisees are happy and joyful, they pass this onto the customers.

We believe that as biking baristas, we have the ability to make someone’s day in the short time we spend with them. In this day and age where there is so much negativity and bad news, a friendly face and connection with the person serving your favourite drink can ensure you have a good day.

Basically, we believe your happiness is in our hands and we take that responsibility extremely seriously!

Part of our franchise agreements includes doing random acts of kindness each week. This keeps us and the biking baristas accountable to each other to keep spreading joy. Sure we serve great quality coffee but we also want to give back to the communities we operate in and help grow local communities in a positive way.

From our ‘Pedal It Forward’ campaign on our cups which allows strangers to buy each other coffees, to the quirkiness of our carts & the awesome helmets and warnings on our products, it is all designed to put a smile on the customers face and spread joy. The amazing thing and what has us so inspired is that all these little things are attracting people with the same drive and passion to spread joy in their communities.

Even though our Hervey Bay and Bargara franchises have only been operating for fairly short amounts of time, already they are giving back to their local areas through donations, attending fundraisers and volunteering in various activities. We are so proud and delighted in them and the new people we hope will begin operating very soon around QLD and beyond. The amount of good and joy that is going to be spread can and will make a difference in our customer’s lives.

Above sales, profits or bottom line. We know that the purpose of living is giving and if we continue down this road of spreading joy we will continue to attract the right type of people who have a similar goal and passion. We know they are out there and finding them is worth the wait!
