Well stated. And I do think that polyamory does open doors to different expressions of affection. You can have friendships that are “more than friends, less than lovers,” maybe “familial” is the best term. It also nails shut the coffin of serial monogamy, which - IMHO - is the most destructive form of relationship because it makes us all disposable. To be a good member of the poly community, you don’t “ghost” people and you don’t discard friends/partners when something “better” or “new” comes along. It’s not less responsibility being poly; in fact, it’s just the opposite.
