The Ideal Lifestyle

Invest… in yourself!

Someone told me the other day

“Claude… you know how to live! You’re like the little ball in a pinball machine, you go fast and you break walls!”

As we approach our twenties, the majority of people fall into a pattern. We’re told to go to university, get a safe job, get a good pension and buy a house. It seems to me that it’s all so… boring. Everything seems so.. predefined. Where’s the surprise? Where’s the challenge?

“Invest, Claude! Buy a house! Think of your retirement! Now is the time!”

I don’t think so. I think that now is the time for us to discover ourselves. Who are we? What do we want? Do we even know? What excites us? What makes us truly happy?

I prefer to… invest in myself.

I want to experience extraordinary things. Get out of my comfort zone. Meet new people. Take on new challenges.

I’m not saying that I’ve found the answer to eternal happiness. I’m not saying that everyone should live a “free for all” lifestyle. I’m not saying that I’ll keep starting over again my entire life.

But…

For the past few years I’ve been in the pursuit of the ideal lifestyle. Sometimes it’s a little stressful to always want more. As soon as I have something… I want something else. Does ambition have negative aspects?

One thing is certain: the warmth of the sun doesn’t replace the warmth of our family and friends, or of Quebecois people! Long live FaceTime, SnapChat and the Internet!

To conclude… travel the world, meet new people and the most important tell great stories! That’s my key to success!
