Today we publish our first ever article on Peerce’s Medium page. Youhou! 🙌
We are so glad that you can finally discover the project. There are so many things we want to tell you! What is Peerce? Why do we want to launch such a product? Where do we want to go? What is our goal?
But first, let’s talk (just between you and me). I’d love to hear about you and your life, what you do for a living, what’s your story, what is your passion… Don’t hesitate to reach me out, I’m really interested to get to know you.
Let me tell you my story. Don’t tell other people about it, it’s a secret.
I was born in France, near Paris. I already hear “oooh! I have a great great aunt who studied in Paris 30 years ago”… — Yeah, Right. Was it La Sorbonne? Of course it is 😉.
Anyway, I know it’s a well-known country for its culture, for its art, for its romanticism, for the French “baguette”. Yeah. But I assure you, we, French, do have a great education system. Thanks to this country, I learnt business, software engineering and product design.
After we graduated, I ended up studying in UC Berkeley while my friend and co-founder choose to keep learning by following a CEO in its worldwide sales tour. Living near San Francisco made me discover how vital is the Silicon Valley to the Tech development. This place shapes every product we use everyday and creates (almost) each service we know around the world.
And one day, I decided that I wanted to be a part of it.
With my friend, we had this idea that dates back to 2017. A “true itch that we want to scratch”, as would say Nir Eyal in Hooked. We examined how our everyday life could be so much easier without this pain, especially at work. From the wake up at 7a.m. to the bed at 11p.m., we wrote down each time we were meeting this frustration.
And you know what? We were facing it more than 10 times a day, every single day!
Starting our customer discovery
We started our market research / customer discovery. No need to mention that you must not develop any product without knowing your users and/or your customers. We first asked our friends to check if they had the same sort of issues. They did.
Then we used different methods to find potential customers among freelances and independents from all over the US (designers, developers, translators, etc.). 250+ people told us that they also had these issues.
Our ultimate GOAL it to rethink, reshape and redesign a product that people are using on a daily basis.
And guess what? We found one.
💌 To be continued in the next episode.
