The new 1.5 release has a ton of new features, updates, and fixes. Below is an overview of the top new features in v1.5.

1 — New UI

The app now has a fresh, modern UI supporting darkmode. The most recent ride at the top of the app will also show you other workouts you have done that day and flip between them.

2 — Better Support for Runners

Pelotrak now tracks your pacing, best mile in a run, splits, and other running related metrics. The PeloPower score is improved to more accurately work for your runs. There is a specific data section for runners that allows you to see your progress, favorite instructors, and more.

3 — Power Zone Guidance

Pelotrak allows the community to collect targets for Power Zone rides. Over 100 rides now have this data. With the guidance feature, you can use that data to show you the current zone during the ride as well as which zones are up next. You can access this feature by going to the Power Zone section, then find the “Ride Library”, open a ride, and click on “Ride Guidance”. Please also consider recording your PZ rides so others can benefit from them.

4 — Metrics for Strength Workouts

Interested in learning more where you focus your strength workouts? The strength section breaks down each workout type into six main body areas (arms, core, chest, shoulders, back, and legs). It provides visibility into which parts have been worked out over time. The simplified summary shows arms, torso, and legs. If you are into strength workouts, I’d love to get your feedback and thoughts on this section.

5 — Updated Ride Metrics

As riders added more and more rides, the ride metrics and graphs became confusing and complicated and not very helpful. This section has been simplified to focus on changes over time in the last 12 months.

6 — All Workouts Metrics

A new section provides some high level data around your total time spent in workouts and gives you a rough breakdown of what your workouts have focused on: fitness, strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. Note that most workouts usually improve multiple areas. For example, a typical ride is mostly fitness but also 60% strength. A cool down and a stretch help with flexibility. Mindfulness is based on meditation.

7 — A Better Activity Feed

The activity feed can now be filtered down to “close friends” and has been simplified to show stacked workouts of your friends.

8 — Sharing a Workout

This is an experimental feature. You can now click on the “share” button in a workout and generate an image that includes your preferred metric and insights as well as a key graph, useful for sharing your accomplishments on Facebook and Instagram. This is a basic first version of the feature and I’d love to get your feedback on how to make it better.

9 — Learn Section

When I started with Peloton, I found it hard to find helpful information. I spent a lot of time collecting information from various sources. This section is still under construction and I plan on adding more content as well as linking to all the different online Peloton communities. If you are part of a Peloton Facebook group you’d like to make sure is listed there, please let me know. If you have ideas for other content that should be listed there, I’d love to hear from you.
