It’s day 10!

Let’s get into it.

Today's challenge

IDEATION PROCESS

There are a lot of what-ifs associated with data privacy.

Personally, I had times when I was very skeptical about filling my personal information on apps and websites, no matter how trusted they were. In fact, sharing my location makes me uneasy because, why do you want to know where I live?

I understand that there are many other people out there who, like me, are very skeptical about filling their personal information online and on mobile apps, too.

It’s natural for users to wonder why companies need their data and what they plan to do with the data and as a UX writer, I need to:

  1. Ease their concerns without making it seem like I’m gathering their data unnecessarily.
  2. Reassure them that their data is safe and won’t be shared or used for other purposes.
  3. Make them understand what the data would be used for

Tone

  1. Reassuring
  2. Convincing
  3. Safe

RESULT

Heading —

We won’t share without permission

This heading assures the user of the safety of their data and that the company won’t share their data without permission.

Body —

We use this to curate content just for you.

This body helps the user understand why the company needs their data — to curate personalised experiences

Button —

Option 1 — Proceed

Option 2 — Cancel action

These options give the user a choice. Either to proceed with the search, or to cancel the action.

That’s it for day 10. Let me know what you think in the comments.
