My story is like yours — even to the belly-patting uncle! Ugh! Unlike you I avoided bulimia and instead had anorexia. As you know, one can morph into the other. Physically, you have suffered more than I did, but the anguish you describe sounds familiar. You are so right when you say people, especially parents, aunts and uncles, must be careful what they say to and about girls, especially after they reach their 13th birthdays.
