Great alternative to the stale old formulas all your competitors will be using; it may not be applicable exactly how you’ve outlined it here for all kinds of positions, but worth thinking about all the same.
I think framing your application in this way has a really good chance of working because not only are you showing up-front your value specific to the role you’re responding to — but your letter will naturally influence your potential hirer to visualise a future where you’re already working with them; once you’ve got that idea seeded firmly in their brain — it’s likely you’ll float to the top of their pile of applications.
