Wil, I don’t understand how you can feel this way about Bush and somehow think Obama/Clinton have…

If military intervention is your issue, ok — I basically agree that Clinton is capable of far more “scary stuff” in that arena, because Trump wouldn’t even know where to begin to actually get the political support (both here and abroad) to do anything along those lines.

(I don’t believe for a second that Clinton or Obama’s intentions were ever less than honorable or well-meaning, unlike the Bush administration.)

But despite that, what good exactly does your third-party vote do when Trump takes the reins? One of the best-case scenarios I can think of is that he issues orders so outrageous that the military must refuse them, essentially effecting a coup. More likely, his complete lack of foreign policy knowledge leads to bungle after gaff after incident.

Maybe the end result is a good outcome for the US, because it would dismantle so much at every level that would then need to be rebuilt, hopefully-but-let’s-be-honest-probably-not better, including both main parties.

Or, it could lead to WWIII. Call me a coward, call it hyperbole. I’m not willing to take that kind of a chance whether I particularly like Clinton or not. I completely understand the sentiment and was a Sanders supporter myself, but I find it decidedly disconcerting that so many aren’t taking the threat of Trump seriously. He literally will have the nuclear missile codes. If you have ever heard him talk for even a few seconds that thought should be sending a shiver down your spine, right into the nervous system to your hand while you cast your vote.
