Too many job openings reeks of “coder factory”, in which coders are treated as replaceable cogs in the enterprise machine.
That’s why I recommend people wanting to actually have a _career_ (gasp!) to learn Python.
The Maths & Physics world are being recruited into the Finance industry to do data slicing & dicing. And these people are familiar with two things: MATLAB and Python. Guess which language they will insist on being used in the Finance Industry.
And, like it or not, that is where the money is.
