Ethercraft Development Blog #1 — Roadmap
Phase 0
New Client — A completely fresh and new take on the Ethercraft client, inspired by traditional MMORPGs, using a multi-window system for multitasking and cross-reference of items, allowing players to make better decisions with more information accessible from a single browser window. Other features include a search system and economic overview page, allowing players to view listings from 3rd party markets within the client
Phase 1
Airdrops & Recurring Rewards — As part of the upcoming airdrop system, early backers will be eligible to claim recurring rewards for supporting the game’s development
Lootboxes — Players will be able to open lootboxes, and discover what is found inside
Minigames — Minigames will play a key role in the fundamentals of the economy, allowing players to acquire basic materials such as wood or stone
Phase 2
ERC-1155 Upgrade — Ethercraft will be transitioned to a newer token standard, which aims to save significant gas, and also simplifies the process of development greatly
Characters & Pets — As part of the ERC-1155 Upgrade, Characters and Pets will be introduced to the game, some of which will only be available to early supporters
Crafting — As part of the ERC-1155 Upgrade, new crafting recipes will be introduced, extending the availability of choices in the game
Phase 3
Dungeons — Players will be able to enter the dreaded Dungeons, risking their character’s progression and items, with the hope of bringing back rewards
Land & World Map — In this update, Characters will travel around the map in order to complete tasks such as Dungeons and Minigames, with held Land acting as safe areas for Characters
Guilds & Quests — Guilds in Ethercraft are intended to serve as a foundation for cooperative play, which is accomplished through a Quest system that allows players to complete tasks for Guilds, in exchange for rewards held by the Guild
