THE EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE IN KENYA AND WHY WE NEED TO CAP GLOBAL TEMPERATURES TO 1.5 DEGREES

We constantly hear that global warming must be capped and this is absolutely true. We are at or near the tipping point; the point of no return to environmental catastrophe.

So what’s the problem? Why the resistance?

Its all about the money. Somebody is going to get hurt and they will block all attempts to reverse the trend.

The sub problem is world wide cooperation. The US and Kenya may comply but what about all the forests burning in Malaysia for palm oil production? All countries must enforce the code realizing that there will be winners and losers.

But the losers must be compensated.

Just like farm subsidies compensate farmers NOT to grow something, we must be willing to pay for the pain incurred by environmental action.

So what’s the problem?

We don’t have any money! The US already owes $20,000,000,000,000. That’s $20 trillion with a T. Other countries are hurting. Most countries are in bad shape.

We need a giant reset. But that’s a story for another day!
