2018 Wedding Trends to know now!

Every year, new ideas and trends come and go, and while you should always go with whatever wedding makes you happy, regardless of whether they’re fashionable, here are some trends you can expect to see a lot of in 2018.

When it comes to picking your wedding dress it can be exciting, but also overwhelming and stressful with all the options to choose from. Consider looking into Bridal magazines and Pinterest to help you figure out what sort of dress look you’re going for whilst also keeping you updated with what’s on trend. Just call 2018 brides caped crusaders. Nearly every designer showed at least one wedding dress topped off with either a funky cropped capelet or a full-length cape. Black Accents, All-over beading and Bows are also HOT wedding dress trend for 2018.

We haven’t forgotten about the boys! When picking a suit, Grooms are now considering fabrics, prints, colours and even accessories. Velvet, Corduroy and Ombre are all going to be massive in 2018 weddings, matching pocket squares and socks, allow the groom to be just as stylish as the bride!

Couples this year are searching for more industrial based locations with floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing for a lot of natural light to come in (which is perfect for your photos). This look can be achieved in warehouses, galleries and lofts. Couples are falling in love with venues with exposed brick, metal accents and vast amount of space (right up our street). Looking back at some trends can also help you in idealising new upcoming trends. One example of this, is the Rustic theme, which was an extremely popular trend that has now developed onto a Rustic Formal theme. This means less mason jars and bales of hay and more formal affairs featuring potted seasonal blooms and row upon row of mixed material votives and pillar candles.

These days, more and more couples are foregoing the traditional wedding cake and opting for something a little more individual. Biscuits, pies, cupcakes, deconstructed cakes and fruit layers. We featured a Gingerbread Pinatã on a recent styled shoot of ours, Maid of Gingerbread creates stunning wedding cake alternative.

“Next year’s focus is not just about flowers but vessels too! Brides are loving the eclectic mix of vintage and new pieces. Coloured glass, geometric shapes, concrete and vintage cut glass. The bolder the better, pastels with a punch of colour if you want to play it safe.” — Grace & Thorn. We couldn’t have said It any better, these guys definitely know what they’re talking about when it comes to floral arrangements. 2018 is going to bursting with bold pops of colour!

Being a London wedding planner is always fun and exciting, especially with fresh trends like these which give couples even more scope to personalise their big day and also allows me to be extra creative.
