5 Amazing party themes your guests will love

I love working on themed events! They are a fantastic way of letting your guests know they should expect something extraordinary, and for raising their excitement level even before they step foot in the door. The hardest part about organising themed party is choosing the theme, so here are five on-trend ideas to make your themed party the event of the season.

Trump vs Clinton

Even with the whole Brexit issue, American politics are so much more interesting than British politics Have some fun with a Trump vs Clinton, red white and blue, themed party. Costumes would be a simple matter of a power-suit and a printed mask, and you could decorate the room with decorate with Democrat Donkeys and Republican Elephants. Have clips of some of Trump’s and Clinton’s best gaffes playing in the background, or put together a game of election night bingo if you’re holding your party on 8th November.

Celebrity Celebration

Host the ultimate homage to all the wonderful celebrities we have lost in 2016 with a themed party. If guests wanted
to dress up they have a wealth of celebrities, and celebrity characters to choose from, including David Bowie, Prince, Alan Rickman, Victoria Wood, Motorhead’s Lemmy, Muhammed Ali, Sir Terry Wogan, Ronnie Corbett, and David Guest. Give tables
names of relevant song or film titles, and play related music.

Olympic Fever

Stage your own summer olympics at an Olympic party. Play ceremony bingo if you are hosting during the opening or closing ceremony, get creative with games and create your own version of the pentathlon, or hold variations of actual olympic sports like rhythmic gymnastics and badminton. Base your decor on the colours of the olympic rings, and give your guests gold, silver, and bronze goodies. Set up a podium or olympic torch backdrop for fun photo opportunities.

Cirque du Soleil

If you have the budget to splash why not treat your guests to a magnificent Cirque du Soleil style party with trapeze artists and other entertainers, incredible lighting, and a surreal atmosphere. Festoon your ceiling with hanging umbrellas and elaborate chandeliers, and place cardboard cutouts of performers in corners to surprise unsuspecting guests. Include masks and fun circus themed props in your photo booth, and name your dishes and drinks after Cirque du Soleil shows like “Ka”, “Varekai”, “Mystere”, and “Zumanity”.

Winter Tropics

Warm your guests with a tropical themed party in winter. Imagine and indoor beach, palm trees, and heavy-duty heating with guests in Hawaiian shirts drinking fruit-garnished cocktails and dancing to steel drums, or a chic Ibiza vibe with glowsticks, a laser light show, inflatables, and a DJ playing the biggest hits of summer 2016.

The key to a successful themed party is to commit to your theme. Even the most amazing idea executed half-heartedly will disappoint, so once you have made your decision to have a themed party give me a call and we can get to work. Allow guests enough time to arrange a costume if you’re asking them to dress up, and make sure every detail of your party fits in with your theme, including food, drinks, and transport.
