For sure everyone have looked or will look forward to buy a keyboard but they didn’t know what their keyboard wanted to be.

Hello everyone my name is Arshia and in this article I will tell a summarized information about keyboards. I hope you enjoy!

1. Looks

To some people looks is the most important part of a keyboard or better to say almost everything but let me tell you, in a keyboard everything is important even the sound it makes, but all aside looks just depends on what are you looking for and its the easiest to choose between the other things that I’m going to tell you.

2. Switches

Choosing the type of switch is choosing the feeling you want to experience while using your keyboard which I have talked about them in this article: https://medium.com/@pershmine/different-types-of-keyboards-and-their-switches-d936de4d4b64

3. Keycaps

Keycaps have different profiles and surface depending on the plastic they use while making the keycaps, ABS and PBT. while ABS is better for color PBT is better for longevity so it takes more time for the legends to fade out specially double-shot PBT keycaps (in my opinion they even look and feel better)

There are also different profiles of keycaps.

But if you want a more detailed information about keycaps I really recommend looking at this article from Tom’s Hardware’s website: https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/pick-keycaps-mechanical-keyboard

4. Sound

The sound you want to hear from your keyboard is really important because it defines the character of your keyboard, and it depends on everything but the easiest of them to mention is the hollowness of your keyboard which nowadays most of the keyboard making companies use sound dampening foams to reduce the hollowness and make your keyboard (as keyboard enthusiasts say) more thock. but there are also other things such as lubed switches and stabilizers, the material of the keyboard’s body, the material of the keycaps and their thickness.

5. Wireless or Wired

It really depends on you and what you want and how much you want to spend but there is something that I recommend you to always look for, detachable type c cable.

At last

There are also other things and other mods that are included in some keyboards such as gasket mounted keyboards which makes the typing experience better but also makes the keyboard more expensive.

note: if you want to see videos on youtube about keyboards I really recommend this channel.

Thank you every one who read this article all the way, I wish you the best life you want, and good bye.
