No action should be ever taken on a single data point. All data should be viewed and weighted according to their context and situation.

Taking action on a single data point from a leading question, is risky.

But the point of this technique isn’t to gain solid data but instead to gain indications of certain things to be further investigated.

In the end, you make decisions on trends and patterns in user data, not a single response from a leading question.

You are making the assumption that all users will tell “her the answer I was seeking”. I have noticed this is not true. Users react differently to these stimulus. Sometimes agreeing and also sometimes stopping me and explaining how it was not the case.

I notice that many of the responses, provide indications of things to be investigated.

I provided usage & context of this technique in the example for a specific reason. This is not something you use often and commonly. This is to be used very specifically for a certain purpose.

All methods of research & technique have their advantages, disadvantages and short comings. But as long as you are aware of them, they should be considered as sound viable options for discovering information.

Is this a leading question? Yes. Is the data perfect? No.

But can it potentially produce valuable data? Yes.
