The thing of it is, though, the unforgiving one keeps themselves locked in the dark side, even more so than the one unforgiven. They keep themselves chained to the hatred, the judgement, whatever force is driving their inability to forgive. I agree that, since you know it was an innocent mistake, you really need to forgive yourself and move on. You don’t have to stay chained to the consequence just because the person that was hurt by it is. Once you have forgiven yourself, you can do your best to make amends to that person — admit your mistake — then it is up to them whether they accept it and move on, or continue being chained to the darkness. You don’t need to stay there, though. You need to move on, embrace the light, be the love. Life is too short to carry this crap around for long. It’s just not worth it.
