vendor/ gets ignore because it is absolutely unnecessary to copy, since developers can use Composer to install required dependencies; moreover, its size is not light, so it is so inconvenient to transfer vendor/ over the net. You can just download composer to your computer and upload to your host via FTP; then run composer command to install. That’s what Composer, or any other dependency manager, is meant for.
