The NFL Treats Patriotism As A Brand, And Colin Kaepernick Is Ruining It
Lindsay Gibbs

Never quite understood why our only displays of patriotism are standing for the national anthem before sporting events. What is the logical link there, from high school sports to pro sports? We weren’t too surprised up here in Titletown to find out that the Packers were getting paid for flyovers and giant flag displays before games. The NFL’s patriotism is just a public relations write-off. As far as Kapernick, I can appreciate his taking a stand. Would I choose the same avenue? I don’t know, but he’s making his point.
