People are beginning to say less and show more.

A few years ago, no one would have known what a ‘Snap’ was. Now, it’s the only thing younger people are doing to communicate.

The way we communicate has been evolving at an unprecedented rate over the last few years. We have been adopting and switching to new messaging platforms in the blink of an eye.

As new messaging platforms come out, it presents us with the unique opportunity to express ourselves in ways that weren’t possible before.

An example of this would be Snapchat filters. Before filters were released, the world had never seen anything quite like it. It gave us the chance to communicate in an entirely new way.

Self Expression Is Vital

Being able to express oneself is key in communication. The more you can express yourself; the more people are going to use a particular method to communicate.

The entire point of communication is sending out some form of a message, and then getting feedback from whom the message was sent to.

In its basic form it’s simple, but when you add the element of self-expression, then things get complicated.

People love things like emoji’s so much because it helps them visibly express how they feel. By sending something as simple as a smiley face, it shows you are happy.

What it boils down to is self-expression should be simple through messaging.

Messaging - Our Primary Form Of Communication

The thing we have started to do more than anything else is use messaging as our primary form of communication.

Whether it’s Snapchat, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram Stories, Slack, or any of the hundreds of other messaging platforms; it’s where we do most of our communicating.

This transition to digital communication is fueling an entirely new way to converse. People are beginning to say less and show more.

They are sending more pictures, videos, emojis, gifs, and things that aren’t words to communicate.

We are trending more and more towards near wordless communication.

I am not saying this is going to happen anytime soon, but I believe the day will come where we use very few words to communicate.

Prepare For The Inevitable

People just don’t read words anymore. Whether it is instructions, terms and conditions, or any other long worded form of content; people just won’t read it.

Of course, you are reading this article, so there is still hope for you.

Never the less, wordless communication is on its way.

Time To Simplify

To help simplify communication, I have decided to develop a unified messaging app.

The app I am developing will combine all forms of communication into one simple application. This will help people digest and send messages/emails from one central location.

I am currently in the early stages of development for my unified messaging platform, which I have named UNUM messenger.

I plan to launch UNUM messenger in March of 2017 as a Beta. If you would like to be notified when UNUM messenger launches, you can sign up here.

Any and all feedback is appreciated!
