i have a nyc tour business and i have 63 favorable reviews on trip advisor. i am known as the gabby cabby. i have one review which was written by a person who never took a tour with me that is very mean and filled with lies. when i complained to trip advisor they told me they would not contact the guy to get a copy of his payment receipt and the review would stay.

i was told that if i signed up with viator, they might look into that review.

when i examine the reviews of things in nyc, i find most of them to be fake written by the owners, i guess.

by the way, i have warned my tourists that if they do a review on me, nice or mean, they will then start getting promotional material from trip advisor.
