Seattle — Day 74: Hope for Us All

It truly a trustworthy statement when the word says that the world we live is wicked, deceitful, and wretched. How bizarre that the world that was once declared good by the Lord has been so perverted over the course of our living on it. How insane is it that in the world we live in, sex has become the norm and that hedonism has become the standard way of our living. How ridiculous is it that the lines that were once considered never passable and firm boundaries have been crossed over and over again in our rebellious whoredom from the Lord? Let us remember that this world that we live in, the advice that media gives, the counsel that we receive from celebrities and talk show hosts is not the standard by which we judge and discern every choice we make in life. That position is reserved for the word of God, and the word of God alone. Let us remember that we, who believe in Christ Jesus and testify to His lovely saving works by grace and mercy James writes about and that there is nothing in this world that is greater than the love of Christ.

Therefore I urge you brothers and sisters to persevere in this race, and to press on in all that you do for the Lord Almighty. May the words of your mouth and the meditations of your heart be pleasing to Him. May your life be filled with hope and restoration as the Lord sanctifies you of your wickedness and teaches you to be a God-fearing, righteous son and daughter of God, by which He has called you to be. May you never lose the wonder of being captivated by His kindness and compassion for you. May you take heart, knowing that He is the heart of your own heart, and with you wherever you may go. May you acknowledge for all the days of your life the faithfulness, trustworthy and goodness of the Lord in sickness and health, for better or for worse, in complete and utter surrender.

Remember that we are not of this world. We are not of the Gentiles any longer. We have been saved by grace, destined to live in grace, and called to walk in grace for all of eternity. Though it is immensely sorrowful, and sad to the world we live in, do not lose hope. May we remember that Christ is for us, that He is with us, and that He will return one day. Therefore, we must continue to persevere and endure all things, hope all things, and bear all things for the sake of Christ. Our King is almost here. Indeed there is hope for us all.

“Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.” — Acts 3:19–21

Prayer Requests —
Please pray for me that I may endure. I am prone to wander, and so quick to turn away from the will of the Lord. I want to desire more of Jesus. Please pray that I would turn from unrighteous, flee from immorality, cast aside all hinderances, and to run towards to cross daily in freedom and surrender. Thank you.
