Hi Jason, thanks for writing this article, I appreciate someone who doesn’t make excuses or tries to give a sugar coated version of the Christian life. I agree that it is through suffering, or the “refiner’s fire”, that Christians are built up (Mal 3:2–3).
I did have a question though, while I agree that questioning God is not wrong, do you mean to say that anger and hatred towards God is not wrong? What is your interpretation of Lamentations 3:25–26 (which you skipped in your quotation): “25 The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. 26 It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
Again, thank you for writing this, and I hope my words don’t come across as judgemental or argumentative, I truly just want to have a fuller understanding of your perspective as you have experienced vastly different things than I have.
