For all those in the stands that are shaking their head at how the manifesto is well-thought-out, and the guy’s just voicing his opinion, man, and how Yonatan should just ease back:
Let’s re-frame away from gender.
If I was at work, and an email started circulating about how veterans just can’t compete with the normal workforce because they’re prone to PTSD, have violence issues, and only got admitted to universities because of “outreach” or veteran employability initiatives (basically, affirmative action), I would go to HR and tell them in no uncertain terms that that’s unacceptable, and I would refuse to work with that person.
I, as a veteran myself, would try very hard to stay cool-headed, but at that point this person’s decision to bring that kind of attitude into my workplace impedes MY ability to work, through no fault of my own. That guy not only fucked my day up, but he fucked the day up of any other veterans at the workplace, the people who have to work with me, and the company itself when word gets out that this is the kind of workplace that future employers can expect.
That is the textbook definition of what a hostile workplace is.
The guy’s welcome to have whatever opinions he wants. He should have checked them at the door.
