Nintendo Consoles Really Don’t Need to be Super Powerful

The Underpowered Overpriced strategy of Nintendo received a backlash in Japan upon the release of the 3DS which forced Nintendo to do some serious backpedalling to save face. They have to do a 40% price slash, the game ambassador program and Mr. Iwata’s salary slash publicity stunt . But still they repeated that Underpowered Overpriced strategy with the release of the Wii U and sealed that platforms fate.

Nintendo is a very stubborn company but their ability to stay afloat despite these losses means that the Underpowered Overpriced business model still makes them lots of money.
