Floyd Mayweather Jnr has dominated his realm of boxing for 21 years 50 fights zero losses. At the age of 40 how does a boxer remain unblemished? How does a fighter battling opponents nearly two decades his junior still command not just combat sports but all of sports biggest pay days?

They say style makes fights but the style that Floyd has mastered over the years is nothing short of art. Boring is something has proceeded many of Floyd’s bouts right next to a chorus of boos, but boxing purist see what he does in the ring as nothing short of majestic.

The art of not getting hit should be marvelled at as much as landed one punch knockouts that leave opponents unconscious.

A plethora of boxing careers harnessed by some of the sports greatest icons have seen there post boxing lives cut short due to the brutal nature of boxing.

The public perception of Mayweather has always been something of question, along a path led by hypocrisy and double standards. Does being assured in ones self having full belief in your abilities make you arrogant? Does having an unhindered will to be the best an not be afraid to state this in a public forum be cast as negative?

Maybe the extreme flaunts of cash, cars and a indulgence for strip clubs on may be over the to not to mention his numerous run in with the laws which did include jail time.

But boxing has always been thrived on bravado, being the best. Two men plot for months how on to impact as much damage upon one another as possible condensed into 12 3 minute rounds. The winner accumulating the spoils of money, fame and worldwide recognition.

So what will be the legacy of a man that boxing record stands at 50–0, surpassing Rocky Marciano with sole ownership of the longest undefeated streak in boxing. Beating the best his era had to offer while collecting the biggest cheques in sports history.

While many contested the legitimacy of his last opponent Conor Mcgregor, I saw it as another shine on a already pristine polished career. The fate of Floyd’s career was already sealed the night he beat Manny Pacquiao anything after that is merely a after thought alla Andre Berto.

Leaving with a 50–0, over a billion grossed and every live gate record owned still dominant as ever at 40.

Welcome to retirement.
