Well, this was tricky. We could be arguing for ages about which are the sexiest characters in video games, and we would need to determine first what we understand as sexy and why, just to reach the obvious conclusion that one man’s meat is another one’s poison. And people love poison.

However, when you’re talking about mobile gaming, things are pretty different. First of all, because it’s hard to find five actual characters. They must go beyond a Store icon or a pretty screenshot of a face. They must be more than their pixels.

And they must be mobile native, or at least not be shamelessly non-mobile native. Lara Croft and Mai Shiranui are sexy by many standards, but aren’t included because nobody would relate them to mobile gaming.

Lastly, we’d like this humble post to continue the eternal debate about sexiness as it concerns video game characters. We’d also like to encourage mobile developers to create more of those complex, larger-than-life, relatable characters, like developers in other platforms have achieved so well in the last few years. That is, unless we want to see the next list debating whether Pou is sexier than an Angry Bird.

5.- Jaina Proudmoore & Valira Sanguinar, from Hearthstone

We weren’t able to choose just one from the initial Blizzard’s CCG heroes, so we picked both. They also represent the best of the vast amount of random busty Elven sorceresses from random CCGs wearing skimpy outfits, if for no apparent reason other than to increase their rareability ratio from ultra-rare to ultra-mega-hyper-super-rare. So to speak.

4.- Nerissa, the Little Mermaid, from The Wolf Among Us

Of course a Fable mermaid working in a strip club was going to make this list. She’s also the only known character to break the Stores’ politeness rule about what’s nudity and what isn’t. Hers was nudity, for sure, but for art’s sake. And the story of a mermaid who gives away her fishtail looking for her true love and ends up working in such a lugubrious place is, at least, touching.

3.-Karen, from Gangstar Vegas

Karen’s tragic life can’t help but increase her appeal. She seeks to avenge her murdered father, who was a cop in a city of thugs. At the same time, she helps her brother and runs a profitable business: a strip club. She’s ruthless and determined. Her alleged offscreen relationship with her brother may deduct a few points from her, but since the Lannisters are so in vogue these days…

2.- Evelyn, from CK:Z series

Your sidekick in Contract Killer Zombies is extremely relevant, because you play the role of a disabled person. Evelyn’s the main character of CK:Z Origins. She’s tough but also caring; the only thing most important that her own survival is to find and take care of survivors everywhere. Here sexiness doesn’t come from being skantily clad, but rather from being totally badass. The midriff certainly doesn’t hurt, however.

1.- Hope, from République

The latest twist on the damsel in distress trope, Hope chooses to seize the reigns of her life and escape from the Orwellian dystopia she’s living in, but she needs your help. Thumbs up for a character who’s not controlled directly by the player and fights unarmed against a totalitarian regime. She’s gorgeous as hell, by the way, and doesn’t need to show flesh to prove it.
