Outwitting the Devil

Ever get that late night craving for sweets and unsavory snacks?

Perhaps you’re one of those folks who can be good all week, but then once Friday night hits, shit hits the fan until the following Monday, thus undoing all of the good you’d done Monday through Friday afternoon…

Believe me when I tell you: Been there, DONE THAT!

Hell, to be completely transparent, there are days where I STILL do that from time to time. I don’t pretend to be perfect, but I do know how to nip these habits of self-sabotage in the bud before they completely uncork me.

The secret? Simply put: Outwitting the Devil.

I’m a self-development junkie, and came across a half-century old book of the same title by one of the first self-development gurus for the masses, Napoleon Hill.

This book conveys a long conversation between a man and the Devil, which turns out to be the force that causes mediocrity and self-sabotage in every facet of the man’s life. The book gives tips on how to overcome ‘the Devil,’ and really helped give me a new perspective at a time where I couldn’t figure out how to get out of my own way.

For those of you who struggle with this, I HIGHLY suggest you read or listen to this book. While the language may seem a little aged, the message still holds just as true today as it was 60 years ago.

And you thought I was just a blockhead who told you how to work out and eat right :-p
