Blood Donation — do your part today!

Yesterday I went to donate blood as I do every 8-weeks on schedule. Except for the moral obligation, I feel to help others out in this way some health benefits might be worth mentioning in regards to phlebotomy. Donating blood reduces your risk for cancer and hemochromatosis (too much iron in your body). It assists in decreasing the risk of damage to the liver and pancreas. Cardiovascular health is improved, and there are some indications that it will help obese people.

Remember, there is no manufacturing process for human blood can so we are the only ones who can help which is why this is so important. Go and donate today!
