What I learnt over past 10 years of my experience as UX designer
-
Today being teacher’s day, I would like to share with you my 5 key learning from some of the best professionals and mentors in my life:
1. Be curious
Curiosity is the spark which ignites great ideas, so keep your mind open.
2. Restrict your judgement
My teachers taught me how to think and not what to think! I use my judgement to decide whether I can improve and not apply it to people.
3. Minimalism
Users love distraction-free designs, that gets things done. Personally as well, I have learnt that things gather dust and I try to keep my ‘stuff’ to bare minimum.
4. Mistakes and iterations are part of the game.
Design is an iterative process. Mistakes, corrections, rework all makes the design better. I learnt to be comfortable with these things instead of taking it personally.
5. Intuition is important in design.
Users don’t always tell everything so you have to figure out many things. User experience is more than what requirements you gather plus what you add.
Finally, I thank each and every mentor, official or whom i learnt from, to be very important to me. I am grateful for my professional journey till now :)
