Ha first off, it was meant to be a joke — perhaps I should define “triggered”? I actually think Ainge is doing a good job — just get annoyed by the “just wait til next year when we turn these assets into something huge” their organization has shoved down everyone’s throat for the past 2 seasons.

Second, smart minds can as to whether they would have had to “overpay” for Butler or George. I’m of the opinion that they could have easily beaten those offers and not had to “overpay”, but it doesn’t matter at this point.

Third, obviously there’s recency bias dude. If we’re going back to 2007, we’d be calling Doc Rivers a good coach too. Ainge is a good GM, but he’s been selling fans on this superstar that will make them a dynasty again ever since he made the KG-Pierce trade with the Nets and said superstar has yet to materialize.
