Equity of access is severely lacking in the NFT space. It is male dominated and expensive to enter as a creator. We are aiming to empower female artists with tools and funds to break these barriers, enter the space AND thrive.
What is Wunks?
Wunks is the first fully women themed punk derivative. Project details:
- Total supply is 6,000.
- Mint price was 0.025 ether.
- There were approximately 4.6 million possible combinations of
traits that were assigned using Weighted Random Sampling.
Wunks follows the ERC721 standard for NFT contracts. The contract is gas optimized using techniques and best practices developed by NFT Chance. If you are a solidity developer/engineer, please take the time to read his article.

There have been many questions regarding roadmap, utility and the future of what Wunks can deliver for the community at large AND for holders. Let’s jump right in.
Women in Leadership DAO
We are in the process of forming a DAO for funding women artists and leaders that want to create a NFT project. Through this DAO (and the Platform below), we want to reduce as much friction as possible for these new NFT artists as they enter the space and successfully launch their project.
This DAO will be funded with 35% of the royalties generated from Wunk secondary sales from Opensea.
All projects to be considered must have a woman artist or women in leadership roles.
Each project that is submitted will be voted on by members of the DAO.
Platform (Blam)
For the past six months, we have been working on a platform that will help launch new projects in the NFT space. We have had dozens of conversations with artists and the biggest issues in entering the space have been needing a full stack engineer, promotion and cost. Good developers cost upwards of $20,000. Contract costs also add up very quickly. Upon learning this, we embarked on building this launchpad to remove the engineer from the equation and reduce the friction from raw assets to deployed contract. While the platform is not quite ready, it is functional and we will provide a demo of this via a YouTube video this week (youtube link here). Some highlights of what this tool does:
- Allow artists to upload raw asset PNGs for token generation.
- Allow artists to set asset weights for how rare or common a trait is.
- In real time, generate assets and maintain token uniqueness for the project.
- Setup the tokenomics for the project.
- Ability to whitelist, token reveal, free tokens, reserves, and more for their collection.
- Allows the collection owner to deploy the contract, letting them maintain full control of their contract. Currently, all collections launched are off chain.
- Ensures the contract is gas optimized.
- Etherscan API integration to verify the contract with the click of a button.
- Protection against Metadata enumeration.
There is more to be done here and more features to add, but this is the framework we have now to help launch generative NFT projects.
There is no upfront cost to use the tool. To keep the community moving forward, there is a total 7% commission that gets distributed at time of withdrawl. 2% goes to the Wunk Community DAO and 5% goes to the team. The 2% is fixed but the 5% is subject to change. We don’t readily know people’s ambitions with projects and as such may lower the team’s % if it’s too high.
Wunk Community DAO
Wunks would not be where it is today without the many wonderful people that have supported us. This community is our greatest asset and as such will be THE decision making engine for the future of Wunks.
This DAO will be funded with 2% royalties on any and all Wunk affiliated / Women DAO projects launched through the launchpad.
This DAO will vote on submitted ideas for Wunk projects/utility from Wunk holders.
Wunk Utility
We have a lot in store for continually providing utility for Wunk holders.
To start:
- Wunk holders and chosen DAO artists gain exclusive access to the launchpad for creating NFT collections.
- Holders are automatically whitelisted onto any Wunk affiliated and DAO artist project launched through the launchpad.
Longer term potential utility:
- Set up non-monetary ERC20 token (name TBD) that can be used for voting on the DAO, exchanging for NFTs from the launchpad and more. You earn tokens just by owning your Wunk and claim them. No staking, lower gas fees.

I do not have time estimates on creating the DAOs just yet. I am still in the research phase for deploying DAOs, but will continually update the community like I always have.
