Rosenthal Tee: A Young Filipino Designer Making It Big
Rosenthal Tee, a rising star out of the Philippines, takes a great deal of pride in perfectly combining the contours of landscapes, the threads of culture, and the patterns of architecture from vibrant Manila and bustling London, two locations extremely important to her. Rosenthal is known for her luxury ready-to-wear in the Philippines, where it is a bestseller, and also for her works that have adorned countless Filipino celebrities.
Rosenthal’s fashion education is among the best in the world. Graduating last 2013 in the famed Istituto Marangoni with a Master’s Degree in Fashion Design Womenswear with Distinction, the young designer joins the likes of Franco Moschino (late founder of the namesake brand) and Allesandra Fachinetti (formerly of Valentino and Gucci) as alumni in the prestigious art and design academy. In addition, she took further design studies around London, completing a Pattern/Cutting course at the London College of Fashion, as well as Jewelry Design and Textile Print Design courses at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
She is one of the youngest and one of the very few Filipino designers to present at New York Fashion Week (NYFW). With a focus on bridal wear, her signature styles borrow on the voluptuousness of well draped gowns, and always include sheer fabrics to epitomize elegance of the feminine form. After a successful showcase at CAAFD’s I’MPOSSIBLE Challenge collective showcase past Fall/Winter 2016, Rosenthal Tee blew the New York City audience away again with her Spring/Summer 2017 line, entitled, “The Girl, Sisa.” The show was held at Pier 59, and showcased the superior talent of her vision.
