Chasing the Horizon
What’s this all about?
Today (9/7/2018) is my last day at Red Pill Analytics. It’s about as hard to type as it is to say; as many of you know I have been a large champion of the company and its mission of changing the analytics space since I joined as employee #10 about 3.5 years ago. The time has certainly flown by, colored by ups and downs of consulting life, memories of incredible days with clients, evenings of frustration over code that isn’t “just right”, and plenty of laughs, learning and new experiences with colleagues and new and old friends alike all along the way. It has been an incredible journey and one I am grateful to have been invited to come along.
However, the nature of things is change. We’re always evolving, not just biologically, but in our desires, our needs, our knowledge and our perspectives on ourselves and the world. It’s because of this realization that I have decided to step away from Red Pill; it’s time for a change.
What does this mean?
In simple terms, I’m “going independent”, meaning that I will be available for hire as an independent consultant, specifically focusing on cloud native technologies and strategy. In addition to this, I’ll be working on a few passion projects of mine on the side; some of which will grace these very blog pages, and some of which will be announced (hopefully) by the end of 2018. I’ll be teasing updates on these on Twitter, so feel free to follow the adventure there. Also of note, all of my previous blogs will continue to be available on Medium.
If you’d like to get in contact with me regarding consulting gigs, which whiskey to buy to impress the in-laws, or just to get into cheeky and fun shenanigans, you can reach me at phil.goerdt1@gmail.com.
