I wrote one of these for the last general election, and I’ve had people ask, so here’s how I’m voting in the primary.

  • Governor: John Chiang or Gavin Newsom (both fine at this stage, ask me again in November)
  • Lieutenant Governor: Gayle McLaughlin or Eleni Kounalakis (both fine at this stage, ask me again in November)
  • Secretary of State: Alex Padilla
  • Treasurer: Fiona Ma
  • Attorney General: Xavier Becerra or Dave Jones (both fine at this stage, ask me again in November)
  • Controller: Betty Yee
  • Insurance Commissioner: Ricardo Lara
  • Member, State Board of Equalization, District 2: Malia Cohen
  • Senator: Kevin De Leon
  • United States Representative: Barbara Lee #BarbaraLeeSpeaksForMe
  • State Assemblymember: Rob Bonta
  • Superior Court Judge: No Opinion
  • State Superintendent of Public Instruction: Tony K. Thurmond
  • Assessor: Phong La
  • Auditor-Controller: Melissa Wilk

  • County Superintendent of Schools: No Opinion
  • County Supervisor: No Opinion
  • Sheriff-Coroner: Monk Funkster (write-in, Sheriff Ahern is a pro-ICE semi-fascist running unopposed, so write in my friend Monk instead)
  • Treasurer-Tax Collector: No Opinion
  • Measure 68: Yes
  • Measure 69: Yes
  • Measure 70: No (requiring 2/3rds is a mistake for spending)
  • Measure 71: Yes
  • Measure 72: Meh
  • Regional Measure 3: Yes
  • Measure A: Yes
