Stop Jaywalking. Start Praying

Join the movement

Society has convinced us we need to be on the move. We feel the urge to be part of the hustle and bustle.

We not only think, but we now know we need to run from one thing to another. And if we’re late, we feel the need to rush even more.

One of the easiest things to do in that dash is to jaywalk.

I understand you can’t afford to be late or the bus routes were behind schedule.

There’s also no greater feeling than reliving your inner childhood through experiencing real-life Frogger as you dodge that blue Honda Odyssey. That adrenaline rush is truly indescribable and what your 9-year old self imagined it would be.

Is it worth it?

You once were cut-off by a similar Honda Odyssey (it was white) and you want to seek revenge. However, did you forget jaywalking is illegal?

Is it really beneficial it to make it a few moments earlier?

Is it worth risking not only your life, but drivers’ on the roads lives’?

Will it impair you to take a few extra steps, enjoy the world around us and wait for that red DO NOT WALK to change to the white WALK sign?

As you take those troublesome and grueling steps, pray.

Pray

One of my friends shared this concept with me, so I wanted to share it with you. Instead of jaywalking, use those few extra moments as you walk on the sidewalk and wait for the sign to change to pray.

We all have something or someone to be thankful for.

Each and every one of us are fighting our own battles and a little extra help wouldn't hurt, either.

Reflect on your life as it is now.

How might your life be different?

Challenge yourself. Leave a few minutes earlier. Follow the crosswalks and wait for the signs to change. And most importantly, pray.

Try it out and watch your life transform right before your eyes.
