Let’s face it, sometimes finding a travel destination for that perfect hiking getaway gets to be a little overwhelming. With the wealth of knowledge readily available at your fingertips, how do you know which sites to sift through and which to take into consideration? If only someone was able to put all the most helpful blogs and sites for all outdoor needs in one place. Here are my recommendations for a few of my personal favorites.

Outside Magazine

Outside Magazine offers everything and anything under the sun about anything outdoors. It covers anything from outdoor fitness, travel, and even outdoor gear you may want or need. It’s in-depth and very easy to navigate interface can take you to the right place for your outdoor needs.

Gear Junkie

When you need to know a little bit more about that new tent or backpack you can’t keep your eyes off of. Gear Junkie offers reviews and articles about all the best gear to fit your needs. They provide adventure stories, videos, and pictures as well as contests for you to win cool new gear!

REI Co-op

This site has a ton of good information about what gear to buy, and even the option to buy it right at their online store! They also offer used gear for those who like to find good deals. Their expert advice and editor’s picks are a good place to get you thinking about your next trip.

Outdoor Photography Blog

What better way to document a good trip, or capturing the most beautiful views than photography. Outdoor Photography Blog does exactly what its name implies, it provides you with the most breathtaking pictures of scenic overlooks and amazing landscapes.
