I just went through the items in my house that have mint in the title or description.

It is indeed quite interesting that only 2 of 11 “mint flavored” items in your house list mint as one of the ingredients — although this does not surprise me. If any of the remaining 9 items list “natural flavors”, then it is still possible that genuine mint was included. However, it is quite common for “mint flavoring” to consist of carvone, menthol, or methyl salicylate that has been synthesized from other compounds.
