I don’t know when or how it happened, but at some point, “IT person” became “developer” which became “software engineer”. I love being called an engineer, especially after only three months of “education”.

Good for you :D Germany protects the occupation of software engineers by law. You can call yourself a developer but in order to carry the job title “software engineer” you would need to successfully complete your technical studies at a university. Basically for the same reasons why you can’t call yourself a doctor after a bootcamp. Good luck with your project though.
