You know how it goes. You have one glass of wine and think, "This is perfectly fine!”

Then, you have another glass. And another.

Before you know it, you're feeling pretty good — maybe even a bit tipsy — and decide to drink one more before bedtime.

But then the next day hits, and you realize that two glasses of wine last night turned into three, four, or five…

The amount of booze you can take before feeling off your face is known as "alcohol tolerance".

It's this and a bit of that

Your gender, weight, hydration, and food consumption can affect your alcohol tolerance.

And when I was drinking wine like it was going out of fashion, it was on a low-carb diet.

So even though I was stone-cold sober, it hit my liver like Niagara Falls.

Consuming food slows down the absorption of alcohol into your precious organs. Good to know, right?

Not so fast…
