Food from Vending Machines

Most goods offered behind ‘the glass door’ by distributors are fast food, unhealthy sweets or treacly drinks. Vending machines can also offer baked goods: buns or sandwiches. Unfortunately, prices are high, considering that students don’t have deep pockets. This kind of food can be the last resort for starving beasts — also known as students. Vending machines are necessary to avoid the rumble of many students’ stomachs in between classes.

Nevertheless, vending machines are unreliable. “Breakdowns are a common problem. Defects of vending machines are rarely reported and as a result before they are fixed, a few people can lose their money. Still, we will return the money, when the customer notifies us about it” — a vending machine technician told us, when we dialed the number placed on it.“But we, as students, don’t have time to report every issue regarding vending machines” — some students told us when we were interviewing them about problems connected to vending machines — “It’s not even a big amount of money, it doesn’t matter if you lose it — you can try again later.” However, when we sum up all the money that was lost due to the malfunctions of the vending machines, we will see that it’s noticeable and not something we can easily forget. Only sometimes are errors of vending machines in favor of students when they get an extra bar or a bigger change, but it’s not common.

The quality of food from vending machines leaves a lot to be desired — as we all know, fast foods and bars are really unhealthy. In other words, junk food makes you fat, increases your risk of type 2 diabetes and…can lead to diarrhea. The choice is yours. Buns from vending machines have a pretty good quality and (what is really important) we can find all ingredients on the label — you simply know what you eat. However, as we have already written — prices are high and this kind of food is still not as tasty as home-made yummies. So remember: Try to prepare your breakfast at home — It is not as time-consuming as you think it is.
