I agree with you 97.5% :) “In general, a nice Intel core i5 or i7 processor with a frequency of 3GHz or more should suffice for most people.” to be fair, I would avoid a sub i3, but an i5 of 2GHZ or better is way more than enough for most web development… My daughter is getting started with node, and she is using our old Core 2 Duo MBP —and it works just fine even with docker… You really can get away with what was Top of the line a few years ago if you aren't doing heavy video or 3d production.
