Rendering data through observables locally in leaf components instead of binding data into a root component is what I’m also doing for Fluorine.

It is a library that I developed by taking more ideas of Redux, RxJS and observables in general to React. It manages a single Dispatcher that can be reduced to individual observables emitting your store’s / reducer’s values over time.

Those observables can then be injected through props into React components.
